Small Town Coroner

Entry 5

It's been two weeks since I've written. I guess I just didn't have time to get to it.

Midnight has been a handful. I have to clean myself up before I go home at night because he can smell what I do at my job. I didn't think he would pick it up so fast

. Arnie and Annie have been making him a special treat to pick up every sunday. They make him a dog food omlet. Don't ask me what made them do it. But I guess anyone I bring with me, they want them to stick around.

The weather is changing fall is just begining. Midnight and I don't go to the beach as much because fall around here means some really nasty storms and cold weather.

The pastor has been coming by early before I go to work to check up on me. The pastor is a huge help every day. He really keeps me going. We pray together and talk about the small town things. What jobs people have and what happens while I sleep.

It's good to actually think about other people than my wife and daughter. I feel terrible letting their memories go but I'm begining to see that I have to.

The pastor asked me if I could move in a student a nephew of his to be honest since he needs a place to stay while moving out here from Indiana to attend film school. I told him I needed to think about it.

That would mean finally cleaning out my wife's and daughter's things. I moved them all to one bedroom. Which would become the boy's. How do you let go of something that seems like it's always been apart of you? I don't know what to think.

Is the pastor trying to tell me to move on or is it just that the kid needs a place to stay? I don't know. I just had to get it all out on paper I guess to really weigh my options. You know what I mean. Well the sun is coming up and Midnight is fast asleep. Time to pray and then hit the sack. Another night in the books.
